It is time for my favorite little write up on divis! Here are the winners this month:
BP = $75
TDW = $12.50
Total Divis for DEC 2015= $100.75
I am content with this amount heading into 2016. Glad to hit the triple digits on the last month of the year. My (short) 2015 Divis look like this:
Total Divis for 2015 = $600.92
I took some hits this year but learned lessons from those set backs. I am going to be more patient going forward before I deploy capital. This will help lower transaction fees. I am excited about that! I think I learned the value of having cash on hand as opposed to being 100% invested. I felt like I had to put money in the market every time I had it. I keep thinking of the great deals with WMT at the $56-57 range or when JNJ was in the low 90s! The fresh powder was extremely limited as I only could purchase 5 shares of JNJ. I will be more patient. On that note, here is a great Charlie Munger quote.
How do some people get wiser than other people? Partly it is inborn temperament. Some people do not have a good temperament for investing. They’re too fretful; they worry too much. But if you’ve got a good temperament, which basically means being very patient, yet combine that with a vast aggression when you know enough to do something, then you just gradually learn the game, partly by doing, partly by studying. Obviously the more hard lessons you can learn vicariously, instead of from your own terrible experiences, the better off you will be. I don’t know anyone who did it with great rapidity. Warren Buffett has become one hell of a lot better investor since the day I met him, and so have I. If we had been frozen at any given stage, with the knowledge we had, the record would have been much worse than it is. So the game is to keep learning, and I don’t think people are going to keep learning who don’t like the learning process. (http://www.quoteswise.com/charlie-munger-quotes-3.html)
Some stocks I am considering:
- ATVI (Needs to pull back to low 30s before I jump back in.)
- SBUX (Might add more shares if it gets around $58.)
- POT (I am following but unsure. 100 knives went through my hands trying to catch KMI… I am doubting my ability to catch falling knives!)
- Major Oil (I am tracking XOM, BP, and TOT . I am happy if oil goes up and happy if it goes down.)
- DIS (I will jump in under $100)
I would prefer to be able to enter a position in ATVI or DIS. Are any of these stocks on your watch list going into 2016?
Happy New Years!
